Richard Dunne

After spending four successful seasons playing for Everton, Dunne moved on to play for Manchester City in 2000, signing for £3 million. Through out his career at the club so far he has been very consistent. He was named ‘Manchester City player of the year’ at the end of the 2004-05 season and has been capped by the Republic of Ireland 30 times. He was installed as the new captain of Manchester City in July 2006 due to his outstanding team leadership qualities.

 

Joey Barton

Barton is an outstanding midfield player who always puts in 100% into every match. He made his debut for City in April 2003 in a tie against Bolton and he soon became a permanent fixture in the starting line up the following season. Barton was ever present in the Manchester City team during the 2004-05 season and his performances have always been consistent. Barton was linked to a move to Middlesbrough during the 2005-06 season, however he decided to stay at Manchester City.

 

Nicolas Anelka

Anelka joined Arsenal at the young age of 17 and became an overnight success at the club. At Arsenal he starred in a total of 65 matches and scored a prolific 23 goals. His finest strike rate certainly came at Manchester City. He was one of the premiership’s leading goal scorer’s during the 2003/04 season scoring a phenomenal seventeen goals in the league; in total he netted in a total of 38 goals in 89 appearances for Manchester City.

 

Robbie Fowler

Fowler is one of Liverpool’s most prolific ever strikers. During his first era at the club between 1992- 2001, he netted in a total of 120 goals in 236 appearances, averaging over one goal every two matches. He has been named as the PFA young player of the year on 2 occasions, 1995 and 1996. After short periods playing for Leeds and Manchester City he transferred back to Liverpool at the beginning of 2006.
