Eyal Berkovic

Berkovic began his career at Maccabi Haifa in 1989; he ended up spending 7 seasons at the club before moving to Southampton. In total he played 28 times for the English club and then moved to West Ham for £1.75 million, in total he played for the Hammers in 65 matches scoring ten goals. He then went on to spend two years at the Scottish club, Glasgow Celtic, where he scored a number of important goals for the major Scottish outfit. After leaving Celtic he went on to star for his third English club, Blackburn, where he only made a handful of appearances. Berkovic transferred to Manchester playing for Manchester City just prior the 2001-02 season. He soon became a favorite with the fans and went on to play 57 times for City.

 

Paul Dickov

Dickov began his career playing for the Gunners before moving on to play for Luton Town and Brighton and Hove Albion. After a two year spell away from Highbury, Dickov moved back to Arsenal in 1996 and played for the club during the 1995-96 campaign. His consistency earned him a move to Manchester City in 1996 and soon became a permanent fixture in the club. After making 156 appearances in his six year spell at the club, Dickov moved to Leicester City in 2002, he went on to appear 89 times for the club before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2004. At Blackburn he made 51 appearances, scoring 14 goals with many of them being crucial. In the summer of 2006, Dickov returned to Manchester City.

 

Shaun Wright Phillips

Wright Phillips made his debut for Manchester City in 1999 and soon became a regular fixture in the starting line up. His outstanding performances for Manchester City earned him a call up into the England set up in August 2004, making his debut against Ukraine. After scoring 26 goals in 118 appearances for Manchester City, he moved to London to play for Chelsea in a move worth £21 million. During his debut season at the champions, Chelsea, he made 28 appearances however he failed to score a single goal for the club.

 

Sylvain Distin

Sylvain began his career playing in the French league for Joue-les tours in the 1997-98 season. His first English club was Newcastle United, a club he spent on loan from Paris Saint Germain. After a good debut season at Newcastle he chose to move to Manchester to play for City. His outstanding performances during his debut season for the club earned him the accolade as ‘Manchester City Player of the year.’ Distin was named captain of the club the following season and has since led the club by example. In total Distin has made over 170 appearances for the club.
