City had won the league title the previous year and was in search of winning the elusive FA Cup. In a side that featured the likes of Francis Lee and Colin Bell much was expected of City. The match commenced at a frantic pace as both sides had decent opportunities. The first and only goal of the encounter came by Neil Young, smashing in a cross by Summerbee. Manchester city continued dominate and create chances however the score line remained 1-0 and Manchester city had just won their forth FA Cup crown. |
