Joe Corrigan

Joe Corrigan is one of the most well known goal keepers ever to star in English football. He was an essential member of the Manchester City side of the late 1960’s and the 1970’s. In his debut season at Manchester, he proved to be a phenomenon in goal, as he played nearly all the games, helping City to win the league cup and European Cup Winners Cup.
In total he played in goal on 592 occasions for Manchester City and is a cult hero at the club to this present day.

 

Mike Summerbee

Summerbee began his career with Swindon Town in 1959 at the tender age of sixteen years. During his spell at Swindon he appeared on over 200 occasions. In 1965, he moved to Manchester City for a fee of £35000. He soon became a permanent fixture at the club and a fan favourite. Summerbee was one of the most influential players for Manchester City and he helped the win four trophies between 1968 and 1970. Summerbee was also one of the most popular characters ever to emerge from City. In 1975, he moved to Burnley after making over 400 appearances for the sky blues during his ten year spell at the club.
